Why is Morrisons delivery so shit?

Their in store produce is actually pretty good and very good value but omg the online shopping ... Had problems with them previously when they transferred the online fulfilment from a 3p to the local store and failed to transfer all my favourites, lists etc so stopped using them for a bit because it was such an arseache to get it all set up again. Couldn't get a bean out of them during lockdown although Sainsbury's and Tesco both added us to the priority list. Now things have calmed down tried again this weekend because as I say I do like the food but Christ it's bad. Missing items, squashed bread items, short dates, bruised fruit, defrosted freezer items ... And now they've shut their phone lines.

For a place that has such great physical shops, their online service is surprisingly poor in relation. Why is this?

Only praise from me and I love the freebie Gingerbread Man who sometimes appears in my order. Grin

I really loved Morrison’s and was sad when we moved as they don’t deliver here. Never had a bad shop.

Asda on the other hand....

In the last few weeks orders have been delivrred randomly up to 2 hours early or late, a few missing items/substitutes notified but lots of errors where my bill says I got what I ordered but the packers have actually put something different in the bag (wholemeal bread not granary, full-fat milk not the semi-skimmed I ordered, wrong type of rice etc).

Babyboomtastic · 23/08/2020 00:56

Their orders were being fulfilled by Ocado, hence we from a warehouse and it was great.
Half way into lockdown that changed and it's now from a tiny local store, and it's awful. I only use them now if I can't get a slot elsewhere.

These were the bananas I received in my last order...

I was mildly annoyed when they switched to store delivery as, like op, it reset my favourites list so I actually had to remember what I usually buy. It took ages Grin
They're not as good as they used to be, I can't get smoked mackerel anymore. And I've ordered sweet smoked paprika 3 times and been sent normal paprika or smoked paprika but not sweet smoked. I also can't register my points card with my online account so never earn any points. Really should sort that out. I'd just treated myself to a 1 year delivery pass before lockdown so can't really afford to change supermarket now. The benefit of the store delivery is that the minimum spend is less so I can get a small shop when money is tight which I couldn't before. I also miss the messages telling you it would be 'Jesus in the cabbage van' or 'Dave in the carrot van' as we just seem to get anon in a morrisons van now.

I've used Tesco online for years, always been great. However in May I learned that Morrisons were now delivering to my area, so I thought I'd give it a try. Got lots of substitutes, ok with that, but NO MILK - of any description. So I had to go out, despite self isolating, just to get milk. You would think the person picking the order, if not the computer system, would be able to provide some kind of alternative. I complained about it and have not used them since.

Used to be fab when it can’t from Ocado but now crap from the store. They offered me a full refund on my delivery pass. But it didn’t arrive and they don’t respond to email

Earslaps · 23/08/2020 11:00

It's still from Ocado here as we've just started getting the deliveries and the driver said he'd delivered before to us for Ocado. Hope they don't change it here, I like that it's from a warehouse as it means fewer missing items.

Haha me too! Always makes me smile!

My last delivery was great! Hadn't bothered in lockdown as delivery then was crap, most of my shop was missing (including my wine!) and my gin still had the security cap on! Almost cried!

But used them last week with no issues! I'm in the north east.

I find them ok, I am currently on a three month free pass, which has been useful for trying to juggle my holiday deliveries around Sainsbury's one delivery a week rule. I think we are now store based, last shop all was there and the selection is a bit better.

They came early one though 9-10 slot, came at 8.30 and I was still in the shower. Luckily DH was around, albeit still in his PJ's.
