When do stop open water swimming with your kids?

We’ve spent a lot of time in our near by lake, swimming has come on amazing - 4&7.

Open water swimming is my thing but it’s something I do usually with out the kids. Wet suit in the winter months. The kids love it and I’m considering bringing them with me after the summer holidays but unsure about when the weather turns.

Just wanted to see the opinions of other open water swimmers that may take their kids!

I think you do have to be really careful with kids body temperatures, and especially watching for afterdrop. You'll know the minute per degree rule for skins swimmers, and I think I'd apply that in wetsuits (with neoprene socks and gloves) for children once the temperature starts dropping.
I guess they already have tow floats, but if not it would be a good idea in case they are too cold to swim effectively

Your completely right. I think my youngest is way to young in the cooler months and I can’t take one with out the other - at this point!
