Help please. Bleeding

I’m out with my family and have suddenly started bleeding. Period not due til 23rd. We are TTC and ovulation was around a week ago. The bleeding came on suddenly and is fairly heavy. Have phoned 111 and waiting for a call back but am going out of my mind with worry. Anyone have anything similar and what was the outcome? Blood is red/pink. No clots yet but had only just started when I last checked. Sorry to ask MN but have to spend time with family and put on a brave face so no time for googling.

What did 111 say?

Lockdowners · 15/08/2020 23:37

Thank you penguin. I do appreciate it and be as brutal as you like. I’m usually very conscious about wasting NHS resources. Even when I had a rash that needed a small amount of something my DD has a free prescription for, I still went out and bought my own tube so I’m kicking myself now. I just panicked and didn’t know what to do so I phoned for advice.

111 wanted me to speak to someone so I’m on a waiting list for a call but they said they were busy so just sleep and they will call back. Should I phone back and cancel?

Keep the call appointment op, you won't rest until you have spoken to someone and been reassured 😘

Minai · 15/08/2020 23:48

I’d keep the appointment now you’ve got it but I really wouldn’t worry. I would say it almost certainly isn’t a miscarriage if you ovulated a week ago, it would only just be implanting round about now if you had conceived.

Have you come off the pill recently? When I did to ttc #1 my periods were messed up for a while, I was getting my period 7-8 days after ovulation but it sorted itself out after a few months.

Don’t panic, I’m sure everything will be fine.

SmackTheMackrel · 15/08/2020 23:50

I'd probably cancel the call, yes. Make a dr appointment in due course if you're concerned but for now, just put it down to an early period or something like that. The body does unexpected stuff sometimes and I think the person calling you back from 111 may be a bit confused as to why you've called

premiumshoes · 16/08/2020 00:04

It’s been at least 7.5 hours, it’s safe to assume you don’t need medical attention.

whiplashy · 16/08/2020 04:55

I don’t understand what you need the call for? What medical emergency are you suffering?

Trashtara · 16/08/2020 06:54

Another who really wouldn't have worried/ done anything. The body does weird things sometimes. If you aren't flooding/ filling a pad an hour and don't have large clots bigger than 50p or the worst period pains you've ever had it's likely just an early period.

At a week post ovulation it's neither a chemical or a miscarriage it's just an irregular bleed- probably due to an early ovulation or an anovulatory cycle.

These things happen. If you weren't TTC you wouldn't be so worried.

Fingers crossed in stops soon.
