Can you set a phone to send an ‘out of battery’ message before it conks out?

Because if you can’t, I think there ought to be.

Yes I know it’s better not to let your phone go completely flat but old ones with flakey batteries sometimes drain very quickly. Then you get stuck on the other side of town without any way of tracking down your teenager who needs a lift... hypothetically...

Just a thought.

My iphone tells me when it reaches 20% and then 10%.

I was think more of a ‘serenity’s battery is about to die in 3-2-1’ to a particular number...

There's an app called Life360 which tells me when my sons phone is at 10% so I can text him to say charge it if he's home.

I guess you could also get your teen to carry a battery chargers when out so they can recharge the phone before it dies

I've found the opposite, my older phones used to have insanely good battery life.

I've also had success switching to 'extreme power saving' mode or whatever your phone calls that. The phone will manage at least an hour longer then rather than minutes.

If this is for the person in the car, keep an in car charger in your glove box.

I was just about to suggest this app. I'm in a 'circle' with some close friends and I get a notification when their battery is low.

I think it only works if you have the app though.

I've got Life 360 too but I don't find it all that reliable.

I do think that would be a good feature. The time it takes to go from 20%-0% seems much faster than the time between 100% and 80%

My screen background changes to black with white text when my phone is down to 15%, can't miss it!

If your child shares location on google maps it says how much battery they have have when you click on their details
