How many women Doctors are in your Practice/Medical centre?

Just discussing this with a friend about how easy it is or isn't to see a female Doctor.

All five Doctors in my surgery are female. There have been male doctors in the past, and you get the occasional locum, but it has always been female dominated which seems to be somewhat unusual to me.

Out if curiosity, how many female Doctors are in your local medical centre/surgery?

6 out of 7 are female, and the male doctor is probably in his 70s and due to retire. Very common for GPs to be female due to the attractive ‘family friendly’ hours (many will still be at the surgery past 7 or 8pm IME) and relatively good salary. I do think surgeries should try to have at least one doctor of each sex where possible.

Two male one female full time Drs.

When I moved here there were 2 male doctors then they took on the third, she is really lovely, so lovely that some patients from her old practice moved with her.

One of the original GPs retired and we now have a young and very ernest male GP.

There seems to be a lot of female trainees.

Also there are two practice nurses and a HC assistant - female and a male psychologist.

I try to see the male GP I have known longest, who in his own way, slightly insane and always seems to want to stick needles in me.

If you want contraception he can give you a jab, swollen joints - steroid jab, other pain - acupuncture. He was really disappointed last autumn when I'd already had a flu jab from the chemist.

5/6 are female ... my DH finds it hard to get an appointment with the male GP.

Ours is quite a large practice but there’s only one female doc. They quite often have female registrars though, and they hold regular nurse clinics, Wendy the Nurse is female Smile (that’s what it says on her door by the way!)
