Clock always seems to read 22.22 or 11.11

When I pick up my phone to look at the time, extremely often (enough to make me notice it anyway) the time reads 22.22 or 11.11... it's weird! Is there any significance in this?

OP posts:
mynameiscalypso · 12/08/2020 22:27

I had this for a while but with 20:12. I'm not sure if it's just that it is a memorable number and so I recall seeing it more than others but it definitely feels like it happens more than is just coincidence. I have no explanation for it though!

hotstepper4 · 12/08/2020 22:29

They say that you have a deceased loved one around you when you look at the clock and it's 11.11. I'm not sure about 22.22.

I'm an atheist and extremely sceptical about things like this however recently I had an extremely vivid dream about my Nan who passed in March. We were sitting on a bench together outside the hospital where she died. She kept holding her arm out to me to show me she could move it now (she broke it in the fall that led to her death) she told me she was peaceful now and to look after my mum. I woke with a start and my phone said 11.11. As I said I'm a sceptic but I must admit it was comforting.

Who knows?!

Hohofortherobbers · 12/08/2020 22:29

I have this with 8:08. And I always think to myself 808 state, that pop duo in the 90s

User56770987 · 12/08/2020 22:32

Confirmation bias. You look at the clock lots of times but don't register other times as much.

HilaryBriss · 12/08/2020 22:32

Mine is always 11:17 - I see it that often I even bought a 2 number lotto hotpick ticket with those numbers, no win though Sad

BananaSpanner · 12/08/2020 22:35

But surely if you’re looking at your phone for the time “extremely often” it will mostly not be these times unless your phone is fucked?!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 12/08/2020 22:38

For years my mum has been telling me she sees 11.11 on her phone or on the car clock a good few times a week. I've seen it on here before.

LadyCatStark · 12/08/2020 22:39

I do that all the time but with different times such as 18:18 etc

beepbeepsheep · 12/08/2020 22:40

You are obviously haunted OP.

irregularegular · 12/08/2020 22:41

I've always felt this about 11.11 especially. It's also my birthday. I'm sure it is just an illusion because it is a more noticeable time than others.

Elasticpotato · 12/08/2020 22:45

Ah here then. My ask and I’ve always wanted an explanation....

I wake in the night, a lot (more than once a week) and I know before I do anything else it’s 3:43 am. I’ll check the clock and it is.

Regardless of when I go to bed, how tired I am,
Changes in time zones, I always wake and it’s always 3.43am.

Been happening since I was around 18,
So off and on for 30’years.

Confused!!

nancybotwinbloom · 12/08/2020 22:48

I had this but usually with all numbers so 11:11, 13:13, 06:06 for example.

Then it just stopped as quickly as it started.

CatBatCat · 12/08/2020 23:16

It doesn't always say that when you look. You just remember it happening when it does.

It's confirmation bias.

WhatANotSoWonderfulWorld · 12/08/2020 23:24

So weird! As I clicked on this thread it was 23.23!!

HopeClearwater · 12/08/2020 23:25

Confirmation bias. Look it up, it’s really interesting. Also accounts for all those primary school teachers who think a full moon means children behave worse.

HopeClearwater · 12/08/2020 23:26

@WhatANotSoWonderfulWorld

But it’s not weird. There are lots of those times like that. 12.12. 13.13. 14.14. Etc.

SingleHandSue · 12/08/2020 23:27

The one I always see is 17:03.

Which is also the time my DS was born and my birth date.

Stradivari · 12/08/2020 23:35

Confirmation bias. I looked at the clock because i read this thread and it was 2332 .. a cool number which is therefore worthy of note and comment... had it been 2335 i wouldnt have said anything about it. Our minds love to latch onto information and attribute meaning to it so that when we see it again the neural pathways are quicker to work .. i would marvel more at the mass of cells that control us (Rather than us them) than wonder about dead people if I wanted to be woo Grin

pinkcattydude · 13/08/2020 00:20

Mines 12:34. I find it comforting and see it so often. Off to read about confirmation bias.

user127819 · 13/08/2020 00:29

I think we glance at the clock all the time and don't actually take in the time, but when there's a discernible pattern, we notice it. Confirmation bias, in other words.

AndWhatNext · 13/08/2020 00:32

I always se 14:44

backseatcookers · 13/08/2020 00:36

Confirmation bias is one of my favourite google rabbit holes. I also love it because I so believe in confirmation bias that surely in cases where it may not be what's going on, my confirmation bias that it's confirmation bias kicks in...

RyanBergarasTeeth · 13/08/2020 00:47

I dont know but my canadian friend always used to say 11.11 make a wish. So now if i ever look at the time and its 11.11 i make a wish. Not a clue why Grin

1000mangoesinabirthdaycake · 13/08/2020 01:17

Snap pinkcatty. Mine is 12.34 too

Mahonia · 13/08/2020 07:42

I read this post then checked how long my baby had been asleep for... 11 minutes 11 seconds. I kid you not.
