DP usually brings me a cup of tea in bed in the morning but he's been away for about a week and I've been shock horror making my own!!

Yesterday morning, DS (8) awoke me at 6am with a cup of tea and the words "mum you said I couldn't use the kettle so I used tap water instead". It was very weak, rather milky very cold tea but I drunk it anyway - and he watched intently to make sure I drunk every drop then took the cup down to the dishwasher Smile

I could fill a whole thread with ds this week!
Took dd out for the afternoon while I took my friend to hospital.
Dug hole and took control of burying dead pet.
Fixed mower and taught dd to mow lawn.

DS hasn’t quite got the idea of I Spy: “Mum, what does ladder begin with?”
Me: “L”
DS: “I Spy with my little eye, something beginning with L”
Me: “Eeeerrr...” and then I have to guess a million things beginning with L which deliberately aren’t ladder, before finally saying ladder.
DS “Well done, you finally got it. Phew, that was a hard one”

Also, “Noah didn’t take any dinosaurs on his ark, that’s why they’re distinct”.

I made dd2's favourite cuddly squirrel a sleeping bag, and teeny face mask, out of unicorn print fabric. She's well chuffed with them & keeps telling me the squirrel is living it's best life Grin

Unfortunately, dd1 is a teenager & is making me more grumpy than smiley at the mo!

We had the best Yes and No game today. He was utterly useless at it and we both found it hilarious. Proper belly laughs. Best 20 mins all day!!

@listsandbudgets you are a VERY good mum! I'm gagging just reading the idea of drinking cold, milky tea😳

@earringsandlipstick not so much a good mum as a thirsty mum!

DP is home. This mornings cuppa up to usual high standards.

DS came over, climbed into my lap and started saying ‘I love you Mummy, I love you Mummy’ over and over. Then leapt up and ran off saying ‘Thank you, come again!’ 😍🤣

He also watched Toy Story 3 recently and at the climactic moment in the furnace with the Claw, turned to me in great excitement and said ‘Look Mummy, look! An orange peel grapple!’ 🤣

Informing me that he wants to call any future dog we get Bubblegum.

We normally eat together at the table but with a busy-ish morning 3yr old DS got settled at the table for breakfast on his own with songs on the tv.

We've been working on table manners so it was lucky DH was working in the next room and could hear him asking the empty room "I get down now?"
