Anyone made any money from brand repping on Instagram?

I keep getting targeted ads on my Instagram stories (not sure how targeted they are actually) about being a brand rep for this brand or that - activewear, clothes, skincare - get free clothes and products to keep.

Thinking if actually giving it a go but don't want to look like a fool?!

Has anyone else done this with some degree of success?

Brands won't offer you free products to promote unless you have a very large following, in the tens of thousands at least.

I’m on the other side of the ads (I look for brand reps as part of my work).
A) The business will get more out of it than the rep. Both the temporary boost in advertising front the rep search itself and then the long term advertising of using you as a rep.
B) Actual paid repping is very, very rare - it’s much more common to offer the rep something small for free and a discount code for future purchases.
C) The odds are usually against you (just because of the numbers of people applying) but it is possible to be chosen as a rep if you have the right look the business is after and an active following.

Thanks for the replies! I definitely don't have a large following but I do know how to create one if I put my time and energy in to it (not currently doing anything anyway/SAHM) as I've got friends with large followings 10k+ and I know how they do it.

I wouldn't mind some free workout gear though 😄!
