Just planning hypothetically.

Say you are on holiday in the USA.
You buy something new. But you use it whilst you are over there.
You then send it by ship back home to the UK.
Do you pay any Customs charges at all on the item?

If you are shipping your own household items, no, I don't think so. I moved from the US and shipped a lot via the post office (boxes) because it was cheaper than getting a container for what I needed to ship. I didn't pay customs charges. I have had to pay it on new items purchased from the US though.

It would be new items purchased in the USA - but I would have gone on holiday from the UK to the USA.
Used a lot on holiday.
Then shipped back - hypothetically at the moment.
