Remember those balls made of little bits stuck together?

I think they must have been little bits of plastic. They were hollow in the middle and were made up of little plastic (maybe rubber?) bits stuck together. I cant even find a photo of one online. It's like I made it up in my head.... this was late 80s / early 90s. Does anyone know what I mean?

Cat toys? Made of bits of rubber, often glittery, smooshed together with little holes where they didn't meet properly? Our cats had a couple, would have been 90s.

Just like those crystal balls yes! I had bigger ones though in pastel colours
