Speeding ticket / yellow box

Anyone received one recently? Just wondering how long it took to come..

Cars beeping non stop all evening. I should have waited till late evening to leave. I can't overtake or take short cuts like most drivers do. But when they start beeping I panic abit.

I definetly know my tyre entered a yellow box :/
I was going straight ahead and red light came on. I had to stop.

I know it's 14 days but wondering if anyone has receieved it before 14 days.

Thank you

erh, why are cars beeping non-stop, why can't you overtake or take short cuts?

what's with the yellow box?

Drumple · 06/08/2020 20:57

I’m a bit lost. Can you explain more fully?

Joopy · 06/08/2020 21:02

When I got a speeding ticket it came 4 days after the event, though it was pre-covid.

Why are cars beeping you none stop? If you're too nervous to overtake should you possibly book some extra lessons?

NerrSnerr · 06/08/2020 21:06

Are you expecting a speeding ticket or a fine for being in a yellow box? Or both?

WaltzingBetty · 06/08/2020 21:09

OP you sound a bit overwrought - could you explain more clearly what happened?

Millie2013 · 06/08/2020 21:09

Hi OP, it sounds like you’re in a bit of a panic. I’m sorry I can’t offer any reassurance, as I’m not sure how these things work, but I can tell you that my mother in law had a speeding ticket ticket recently and it arrived 10 days after she was caught on camera
I hope nothing comes of this for you, but a ticket for a tyre in a yellow box isn’t the worst thing in the world, be kind to yourself Flowers

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 06/08/2020 21:18

I’m also confused. Did you speed or jump a red light?

I’d also be concerned if people are beeping at you all the time. That would imply that you are a nervous driver or maybe make decisions that cut others up.

dementedpixie · 06/08/2020 21:22

Sounds like you were doing the opposite of speeding. You don't get tickets for a tyre in the yellow box. Think you should calm down

Kitkat05 · 06/08/2020 21:49

@Millie2013 aww thank you for your kind words :)

No EVERYONE was just beeping. Not to me.. but just made me panic. Cars were moving from one lane to another with so little space.. 2 lane turned into 3 lanes. It was real messy. I just stayed in my lane.

True yellow box fine won't be the end of the world. Once I got fined though and the picture showed my back tyre in the yellow box..

Could you get some extra lessons on these roads so you're not so anxious? So you can get some practice changing lanes etc.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 06/08/2020 22:11

Agree that maybe you need some lessons to build your confidence. Switching lanes shouldn’t be that stressful for you.

Kitkat05 · 06/08/2020 22:19

Thank you for the replies. It was really tight. Cars were very close together. Beeping was happening because cars were trying to over take other cars. I wouldn't risk that even if I were confident.. it was really hot and rush hour time..

I just won't leave to go out at that time anymore

Yellow box junction used if you are turning right

Lacey2019 · 06/08/2020 22:49

You sound very nervous as a driver. I think you need some more lessons for your confidence on the roads. I’d hate for you to have an accident if you’re hesitant etc

DoubleTweenQueen · 07/08/2020 00:04

A couple of times have been in the same position, in London. I'm a confident driver, but where you have lights, a box junction, loads of aggressive traffic changing lanes last moment (to gain a pointless 'advantage' over someone else), plus lanes merging from a number of directions - it's easy to get caught out! And pretty terrifying!
You have my complete sympathy Flowers
At least twice I've been expecting a fine, but it's not materialised. I hope it's the same for you in this instance x

Lacey2019 · 07/08/2020 07:25

I believe it’s 10 days for fines to come through

Kitkat05 · 07/08/2020 15:00

@DoubleTweenQueen that is exactly what I meant!! Thank you for understanding me! Hoepfully nothing comes through. Will update you in two weeks time :)) thank you so much.
