Please help - lost precious baby videos from iPhone

Hi

I have an iPhone 7plus 128 it has developed a fault meaning the speaker function no longer works and I have had to get another iPhone. The new one is only 32 so I knew I had to delete some photos etc to get the transfer to take place.

So I had dutifully backed up to iTunes on my laptop, thought I had also backed up to iCloud and to be extra sure I transferred all photos into a hard drive. I then started to delete photos etc to clear space. It would appear I have deleted all videos and they are not in the recently deleted section on my old iPhone (I'm yet to fully transfer to the new one).

Panicking I went into iCloud - no sign of my videos. I then went onto iTunes to restore my phone to the last backup - all seemed to be going well it took 2 hours to process (I do have a lot of photos) but then right at the end it says "can not restore".

I am at a loss is there any hope for me finding these videos - they are of my only DS first moments his first ride home in the car/rolling/laughing etc. I am sure they must be on the iTunes backup at the very least but I have no idea where I can simply go into to pull them out.

Can anyone help? I am devastated that these precious memories may be lost for good.

Hi op, you’ve tried everything I would of suggested. You could try asking on the Apple community forum? People are pretty good on there with tech advice.

Try make an appointment with the Apple store people. Try not to worry, they will all be there somewhere! ☺️

Definitely get an appointment with the geeks in the Apple store. They'll sort it.

Thank you @Toddlerteaplease I'm waiting for an appointment there is a long wait (4 weeks!) I dare not do anything with the phone until it's been looked at. The Apple forum suggested by MellowMelly have been lovely but no answers either hence my evening bump in case any lovely MNs may have any insight. Thank you for your response - much appreciated 💐

I just wanted to post an update in case this happens to anyone else. I've just had my "tech support" call with Apple 1 hour and 45 minutes and no actual help 🤦🏻‍♀️. They assured me the videos should be in iCloud as I have backed up but they couldn't find them - they gave me a "fix" and hung up. Nothing was fixed. I had done some further research and found a piece of software called Stellar and a geek thread MNer had also recommended Easeus. So after the disappointing Apple "support" call I decided there was nothing more to be lost and I have tried Easeus- it's a free recovery tool which shows if it can restore the videos. I'm amazed - it's currently scanning and has found all of the baby videos 👶🏻 I am sitting here crying with happiness (and sweltering in the current heatwave 🥵!). It's still scanning but it looks like I can recover the files.

You’ve been lucky! My daughter was born at a time when it was cameras with films. I gave the films to her father to develop, they were birth to 4 months. He collected the photos and went to the pub and they were stolen because he had put them in a bag with a bottle of Champagne.

To say I had a hissy fit was an understatement!
