Forgot a £1 for the shopping trolley don't panic looking for one

I just got shown what to do and it's so going to stop the panic search for a £1 coin. So simple and brilliant.

Take a key off your key ring. One that is a circle at the top 🔑 like this.

Stick it in the coin slot. It releases the trolley. Take the key back out put back on your key ring and happy shopping.

Aldi have locked their trolleys again and I just saw someone do it who didn't have a £1 on her.

No thanks. With my luck the key would jam...

Yeah I've done that before but didn't know it worked with the new shaped coin trolley. I'm not sure it does.

It’s better to get one of those coin shaped key rings and it’s always attached to your keys or you can put it in your purse like I do.

Or buy a Volkswagen as they provide a handy trolley token with the car key.

I realise that is an expensive way around the problem

@SnugglySnerd. I got one when I bought a secondhand car a few years ago. I was so chuffed when they gave it to me I asked for spares 😂😂😂.

I got a trolley token with my car as did Dh, not VWs though, a bit cheaper.

I always have my keys so always have the token. My Mum gave me my first trolley token years ago when I upgraded from a student basket of shopping to a working large trolley type person. Made me feel very grown up

Thing is, if we are reading this, we can just make sure we have a £1 or £1 key ring with us next time we go shopping...

Or get change from the supermarket?

Just get a two-pound coin and file it down to fit - it works a treat.

Don't forget to to take it with you each time you go shopping, as you can't use it for anything else after you have done this...

I tried the two 20 pence pieces and got them wedged in. I was able to use the trolley but I couldn't remove them after. So no way would I use a house key.
