Has anyone tried asmr youtube tracks to help them sleep ?

They are a bit of a revelation ! Not saying they will work for everyone but they have really helped me wind down and get off back to sleep.
I'm a hcp working in ICU.
My sleep pattern is absolutely abysmal at the moment, partly due to perimenopausal issues (mainly anxiety and lack of confidence, dwelling on incidents at work that I feel inadequate dealing with) partly due to alternating night and day shifts for years on end and also ongoing health probs (have sciatica plus recently undergone some investigations, awaiting results). I've ended up going to sleep late (midnight) then waking early, in bed during the day pre and post nightshifts, also had some b**y awful shifts in full ppe with no breaks. At 54 I really want to retire but that's a few years off sadly. I was seriously thinking of asking gp for some zopiclone for night shifts. Then the other night found some asmr tracks on youtube by chance. First was a rainy night in a library with a crackling fire ! Picture of cosy flickering candle lit library (I know - cheesy Grin), lovely fire with flames moving, embers shooting off and gentle sound of wind and pattering rain. I shut my eyes and fell asleep within minutes. There are others too, a picture of a candle lit cafe, rain on the windows, background jazz, tinkling of cups, I just shut my eyes and imagined the scene. Even if I don't drop off straight away, it just takes the edge off things.
I can't link but if you look you'll see how peaceful the images are, combined with background sound effects. Just a thought if anyone is struggling to sleep Smile

I watch at least one ASMR video a day, mostly the role play type ones. I find they help calm my mind before bed especially in the present climate !

Hi Kath yes there are some great ones out there aren't they? for example if you are into cosy cabins, log fires , snow, hot drinks, sleepy cats take your pics and so soothing! Yes I highly recommend, I love the nail filing ones, the sound is like hypnosis for me. Glad you have found this,

When my baby was small and I couldn't sleep between wakes I used to listen to ASMR on YouTube. So relaxing, 9/10 I'd fall to sleep.

I use them all the time to fall asleep, especially hair brushing sounds, so relaxing to listen to. Just be careful your video doesn't contain adverts, otherwise just as you're nodding off you'll be shocked by an ad at full volume!

I love them. Wish Id had whispersred and gentlewhispering when I really needed them. Now I just watch them if I want to relax or have a nap.

I use them a lot. I used to watch them downstairs before going to bed but was falling asleep on the sofa too often! Now I have them on my tablet in bed. Not a fan of whispering videos, no talking at all is best but there are a few soft spoken voices I enjoy too.
