When did you start 'eating like an adult'?

Because honestly at 32 with 2 DC I still have chocolate sauce or Nutella on my pancakes instead of jam or lemon like a grown up.

Just me then? Blush

What the hell is wrong with Nutella on pancakes?

Fudgefeet · 02/08/2020 09:58

I think I eat quite sensibly but my favourite thing is farleys risks with warm milk. I have 9 at a time! Blush

orangeicecream · 02/08/2020 09:58

44 here and still a childlike eater 😖

MiddleClassProblem · 02/08/2020 10:01

How is jam on a pancake grown up compared to Nutella?

Pancake day I have Nutella and strawberries now. As a kid we only had lemon and sugar or maple syrup to choose from.

MiddleClassProblem · 02/08/2020 10:02

I don’t understand why you are questioning yourself on this...

LGemployee · 02/08/2020 10:03
Confused
RavenRituals · 02/08/2020 10:05

Just eat what you want to eat...that's probably the only major benefit to being an adult Grin

Longtalljosie · 02/08/2020 10:05

It’s supposed to be light-hearted!

OP - to answer your question, when pregnant with DD2. I went off sweet food and while the feeling went away, I’ve never again been able to scarf a whole pack of Haribo without feeling sick - which is probably just as well. I always preferred lemon and sugar which shows my obvious maturity from an early age Grin

funnyonion1 · 02/08/2020 10:37

Do I have to put lighthearted at the start of every cheery thread?

I feel like my parents were always eating healthy, so fruit for breakfast rather than cereal or toast, would go for a cheese platter instead of icecream for pudding etc.

I always choose the "kiddy" option!

YABU. The only decent topping for pancakes is ice cream.

CrockyBetter · 02/08/2020 10:51

Ermm.. I've just had a bowl of marshmallows covered in squirty cream topped with chocolate sauce for breakfast. I have weetabix with chocolate chips, coco pops or rice krispies usually yes, I'm fat. Yes, I know I am. Yes, I'm disgusting.

GoshHashana · 02/08/2020 10:52

DH and I have had Nutella on our pancakes this morning. Grin

Potatobug · 02/08/2020 10:52

Everybody has Nutella on their pancakes. What is your problem?

nasiisthebest · 02/08/2020 11:02

10? 11? 12?

I'm not into the sweet stuff as much and love vegetables. I do overeat though, so not as sensible as I'd like to be.

JizzPigeon22 · 02/08/2020 11:04

Nutella and banana is way more grown up than lemon and sugar

Dollywilde · 02/08/2020 11:08

I’m not wild about sweet stuff so I guess never - had avocado toast this morning and just had a handful of cashew nuts as a snack.

I know what you mean though, DH takes a childlike glee in food (there was an extra sausage going begging today and he was over the moon and covered it in ketchup) and he’s 34. The bastard’s also much slimmer than me despite his diet being far less balanced Grin

Fishfingersandwichplease · 02/08/2020 11:37

My fave biscuits are party rings OP!! You can keep your hobnobs and jaffa cakes thank you😂

user1493413286 · 02/08/2020 11:39

I’m 31 and my weekend breakfast is still Nutella on toast and I prefer hot chocolate over coffee. On the whole I eat well though I reckon.

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 02/08/2020 12:58

I still eat party rings. Does that answer you question? Smile

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 02/08/2020 12:58

*your

Ginkypig · 02/08/2020 13:07

Iv never understood all this Other stuff everyone else seems to have on them.

I have butter on pancakes.

That was the way we had them as a child when my dad made them so that's how I have them now but Iv discovered as an adult that that is apparently weird!

Crinkle77 · 02/08/2020 13:15

I'm 42 and still love kids sweets and the old 10p style crisps like transformer snacks and stuff.

Thelnebriati · 02/08/2020 13:16

The correct way to eat Nutella is with a spoon.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 02/08/2020 13:18

I'm still waiting at 41. I love those fizzy laces and Haribo Grin
