Severe radiating shoulder pain

In the last hour I've had severe shoulder pain come on, in the front spreading into the top of my arm. I've just been at home pottering at home, no heavy lifting or anything but its really floored me. I'm not sure if its worth calling 111 or just icing it and see how I go?

Please call 111. It's probably not, but this could be a warning sign of a heart attack. Please don't take any chances.

Could be your heart! Call 111!

CatherineCawood · 01/08/2020 15:41

Any chance you could be pregnant? A rupturing ectopic pregnancy causes excruciating shoulder pain.

Or a PP suggested could be heart related.

Could it be a trapped nerve in your neck? You often don't have to do anything.strenuous for this to occur and it does really hurt.

Are you ok, op?

SheldonSaysSo1 · 01/08/2020 15:49

Thank you. I'm just going to ring 111 - I didn't consider that it could be ectopic pregnancy.

I hope it's not ectopic but excruciating shoulder pain was the main symptom of mine. Call 999 not 111

Roselilly36 · 01/08/2020 15:59

Sounds like frozen shoulder but 111 is best for advice. I was in agony with my frozen shoulder for well over a year, saw two different physio’s so I hope it isn’t that OP. Good luck OP, I hope you feel best soon.

Roselilly36 · 01/08/2020 15:59

Better, even!

CatherineCawood · 01/08/2020 16:17

Hope you get sorted ASAP.

Aquamarine1029 · 01/08/2020 17:13

Any news, op?

BambooWhoosh · 03/08/2020 11:13

@SheldonSaysSo1 How are you?

SheldonSaysSo1 · 03/08/2020 19:06

Sorry for late reply. They sent paramedics to check everything out and I had to go to a and e for further tests (heart related). I did have some unusual heart tracings but it wasn't a heart attack. They think it could be down to stress but it will be followed up with an outpatients appointment.

Good to hear they checked you out and it wasn't heart related. Hope they find the cause. Good excuse for some r&r. Flowers
