Anything I can do for varicose veins are home?

I understand that most varicose veins aren't treated on the nhs. While pregnant with both of my children I developed horrendous varicose veins on both legs. One of my calf's is covered in the small purple veins so badly that from a distance it looks like a huge bruise. The other leg is just as bad, but it's spread out a bit more. I haven't asked my doctor but my friend has exactly the same thing and was told last year that they won't treat hers as they are deemed a cosmetic problem, it's not actually any risk to her health. Which is fair enough, there isn't an endless pot of money.

Is there anything that's worked for you at home to reduce them? I'm finally starting to lose some weight (which I know might help) and wanted to wear a dress out today but I don't really want to with my legs in such a state.

Sally Hansen do a leg spray that disguises them a bit.

Mac face and body is more natural looking that sally Hansen. I buy the large bottle and a little goes a long way. Not keen on the Sally Hansen. It dries really powdery and thick
