Flights out of the UK

If a person were to fly in to the UK from Spain and then try to fly back out five days later - Do airports/airlines get some kind of alert and will they be stopped from flying and reported as breaking quarantine?

No because if you’re travelling out of the UKs quarantine zone into Spain’s non quarantine zone then that’s Spain’s problem not the UK.

You would need to self isolate for the 5 days in the UK though.

No.

You fill in a form online before you travel to the UK which is sent directly to the visas and immigration office. You have to show the airport security when you arrive that you've done it, but no more than that. And then they don't check anyway - they only ever issued one fine the first time round.

So traveling back to and being in airport isn’t classed as breaking quarantine,

Basically this foreign travel quarantine thing is all self run and done on trust so is pretty meaningless.

Well obviously going to the airport will be breaking quarantine, checks are going to made on those quarantining, so if she’s not in her house and checked, they may get a fine.

TheGirlWhoSpeaksBear · 31/07/2020 18:57

Not very likely they will be checked I guess. Unless someone reports them.

They take quarantine addresses at the airport - currently they are aiming to randomly check 10-15% of these (according to my mate in the department of health).
