How to clean a plate and grill that that keeps giving me a stomach bug?

I have a sensitive stomach and recently had a lot of those horrible green flies linger over some of my plates and toaster grill and despite washing them thoroughly I get Diarrhea and nausea bouts from it without fail. It’s only happened since the flies and only with those items - not psychological as I will forget sometimes but be reminded by my symptoms of Diarrhea etc.

No other factor has changed - same foods etc so not a new allergy nor any food that’s gone off

How can I throughly clean these things to get rid of the germs? I have a sensitive stomach

Thank you

Bin them.

You could soak them in a bleach solution (the plates) and rinse them well afterwards. Any bugs on them will be anything which lands after that. The grill - turn on high for ten minutes.

But the issue really is either the flies - where are they coming from? How do they get on your plates in a closed cupboard - or that the stomach upset isn’t because of this but has another cause which may need to be investigated.

I dont believe it's anything to do with the flies if you are washing everything thoroughly in hot soapy water.

If you wash up the plate between uses, it should be clean. Is there another thing that is causing this?

Don't be ridiculous. If they've been washed normally in hot soapy water or a dishwasher they are fine.

If you wash the plate in hot soapy water and reheat the grill, they are unlikely to cause your stomach upset.

Check the freshness of your food and the temperature of your fridge.

Storage - do you keep cooked and raw items separate?

Food prep - are things cooked thoroughly?

Could you or someone in your household have a recurrent illness causing nausea?

Is everyone in the household following hand hygiene rules - children possibly?

Other food items - illness following barbecues was found to be less caused by undercooked meat than by unwashed salads. Wash supermarket salads, including those claiming to be ready to eat.

What is it you’ve been cooking?

It’s nothing to do with the plates & toaster grill, it could be the food you’re eating or a stomach bug.
