Play suits, jumpsuits and boiler suits - a yay or nay

I have none of any in my wardrobe and they've been around since say 2013 I remember seeing them start to appear in shops.

Am I missing out?

I think playsuits are daft on anyone over 8 personally.
Jumpsuits / boilersuits just look so impractical.

I'm not the target market.

I like jumpsuits, but feel I am too old for playsuit. Boiler suits to me seem universally unflattering. I like the more fitted look of a jumpsuit and the fact that you can dress them up or down.

schmalex · 30/07/2020 15:59

I like them (I'm 40). I have a couple of playsuits and a black jumpsuit that I wear in the evening. If you find the right playsuit it's not much different to wearing shorts and a top. Slightly more hassle to go to the loo though!

ouch321 · 30/07/2020 17:06

Yeah they're kind of a pair of shorts/trousers respectively attached to a matching top. Does avoid the whole wind blowing up your skirt/dress thing.

I love a jump suit and playsuit . Very easy to wear but yes annoying for loo trips!!

Camomila · 30/07/2020 18:37

I love them, I've got 3! you feel like you've made an effort and they are nice and flowy but so much more practical than a dress (I have a 4 year old and a baby)

madcatladyforever · 30/07/2020 18:38

I think they are fine if you are very slim, a chubster like me cannot wear them and don't even think of wearing a thong, proper supportive pants are needed.

randomsabreuse · 30/07/2020 18:39

Pain in the ass if you need the loo, especially if long sleeved, or in a tight cubicle (eg at a.Marquee wedding).

Disastrous if you're carrying a baby in a sling...

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 30/07/2020 18:42

Absolutely love them - have some floppy linen wide leg jumpsuits for summer and a white denim boilersuit which is much more practical then it sounds! I'm short and not particularly skinny, the key is to find the right cut for your figure.

HaudMaDug · 30/07/2020 18:50

Got 1 wide legged formal jump suit to dress up with heels or flats and looks great with just a denim jacket and trainers
2 pairs (if that's the right collective) of dungarees which are along the same sort of line I suppose.
Love my dungarees for the pockets and wear with my Docs, Adidas Classics or a pair of wedges.
I'm a 46 year old kid btw. Wink

BogRollBOGOF · 30/07/2020 19:29

I love my playsuit on hot days. I thought it was age 14, but it is actually adult sizes Grin

Hair in plaits. Sorted Wink

I like a jumpsuit but because of my body shape (big bum and thighs) I have to wear the wide legged ones that hang down from the bum. The tapered leg ones literally make my arse look like the back of a bus!

Witchend · 30/07/2020 19:40

I find them very comfortable. I probably look ridiculous in them, but I don't care in favour of comfort.
