I've taken the plunge and signed up with Audible, mainly for my holiday!

Not quite sure where to start tbh.
Will get Where the crowd crawdads sing. I like drama, bit of crime eg Rowling's Strike series. Books I've recently enjoyed include:

All the light we cannot see
Wolf Border - Sarah Hall
Line Moriaty - little white lies, nine perfect strangers
Sarah Waters
c j Samson
enjoy Jane Austen but maybe have read them too much
Dorothy l Sayers Peter Wimsey
Georgette Heyer

So I need a good story, not too intellectual/intense but not total chicken lit and not too gloomy dark/grisly

thanks!

I've just finished listening to a couple of adult Anthony Horowitz novels (Magpie Murders, The word is murder and The sentence is death - they aren't as teaching as they sound, I'd say they were pretty gentle crime fiction, not very dark).

*dark, not teaching!

I'm currently listening to The Dutch House by Ann Patchett which is narrated by Tom Hanks and is fab. I also really enjoyed Three Hours by Rosamund Lupton and American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins.

I also thought Kate Atkinson’s “Transcription“ was really good.
