Brown

Timestoodstilll · 28/07/2020 19:26

Something fresh, like white or offwhite.

notacooldad · 28/07/2020 19:28

I have similar colours in my middle room.
We have two x 3 seater and 1 x 2 seater soft black leather settee and it looks nice.

A light blue would look nice.

Cream

A friend had this colour scheme and went for bright blue. It actually looked quite good.

Pavlova31 · 28/07/2020 19:39

Mind you he did like his bold colours Grin

I'd definitely go for a blue. I don't have any fabric swatches to link to but something along the lines of this paint colour would be lovely.

In my mind a deep navy blue but from a quick look online it seems grey is popular and actually works well.

Avocado.

MaryBerrysChutney · 28/07/2020 19:55

Navy. Or any blue.

DrebleD · 28/07/2020 20:04

Thanks everyone so far - I was thinking either navy blue or brown (but worried brown will look old fashioned)

Paint the walls and rethink?

Teal

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 29/07/2020 12:19

Some shades of red and pink will do nicely, depends on the orange.

TheFaerieQueene · 29/07/2020 12:20

Tbh I would buy the sofa I liked best as it is a cap ex and repaint the wall if necessary. Paint is much cheaper than a sofa!

YessicaHaircut · 29/07/2020 12:25

Definitely a shade of blue, as blue and orange are lovely together. Navy probably more forgiving than a lighter shade!

BellaVida · 29/07/2020 12:34

If it’s more of a burnt orange, then I think a dark teal or mink could work well.

BarelyMerry · 29/07/2020 12:36

@BellaVida , teal would be my suggestion as well Smile

loutypips · 29/07/2020 12:39

A 70's sofa!
I'm not sure I'd base my decision on the colour of the walls. I'd find a sofa I liked them repaint.

dudsville · 29/07/2020 12:42

My OH wants orange walls. I'm not against the idea but no one irl that i know has done this. Can you show a pic of yours without outing yourself?

dudsville · 29/07/2020 12:43

btw, you can also do greys, dark steel greys, can be patterned or flecked with white.

HowayPet · 29/07/2020 15:49

Tbh there’s no way I’d match the sofa to the current wall colour.

Ive always picked the sofa first and matched the room to the sofa. Much cheaper and easier to change the walls than the sofa!
