Help me know what it is i need for my garden

Brain is fried and cannot figure out what to google.
My house is 8m wide - we build an extension on the original part but not on the part behind the original garage.
I'd now like to put some sort of roof / shelter there to cover the 3m x 3m area so its a dry outdoor space. I want the area to look nice and modern but be weather resistant. The 'roof' needs to be strong to withhold rain / snow, can be a permanent fitting but ideally opaque enough to let it light to the french doors it'd be infront of. I have no idea what to google to get some ideas / inspiration.

Please help!

Not a gazebo, too lightweight? A solid extendable roof so you’re under shelter? Pérgolas come with or without roofs, we just bought one for plants to grow up in a bare part of the garden.

Surely you don't mean opaque if you want light to pass through .
You can build a pergola and add plastic roof (like cheap conservatories) and add a bamboo screen to screen the plastic out a bit. Will let some light pass through.
Nextdoor have this and it's been up for at least three summers since moved in. It looks good.
