Will Johny Depp ever work again?

Don't know what's happened.

I think he's an arsehole. Was very pretty and in great films though so I get why so many support him etc.

I was in Paris while the whole original thing came out with her with bruises etc etc. There was a cloth hoarding the size of several buildings up by the Seine just down from Louvre with his pic and a slogan for perfume 'I know love' or similar. I said to DH, are they taking the piss?

Someone upthread has posted a list of past incidents which I hadn't even heard of, so I don't believe the current adversarial court cases will necessarily ruin things for him now. People can just put all the blame on Ms Heard if they wish, and he was very well loved before this.

However, whatever Ms Heard is like, he has been totally off-the-rails on alcohol and drug fuelled binges. He has no credibility in declaring what he did or didn't do during those binges. Pragmatically, that is what could do for him. Directors will weigh up whether his personal partying has the potential to interfere with filming before they cast him in anything new, as they have done for Lindsay Lohan.

I remember Kate Moss said that Johnny taught her “Never complain, never explain” in terms of their media image. I think it served them both well for a long time. Johnny Depp is almost certainly an alcoholic. I’ve seen him mumbling away in interviews and he’s obviously wasted. I think whatever happened between him and Amber was obviously very toxic. I hope he takes stock of his life, the drinking, the debt, the craziness. He seems like a genuinely nice guy and has done a lot of good things for people and charity, but I can also see how he has a dark side when he drinks.

I'm sure his acting work won't dry up but I'm not sure how suitable he is to maintain his links with Great Ormond Street kids hospital.

She was in The Rum Diaries with Johnny Depp. I think that’s where they met and he fell for her.
The situation sort of reminds me of Paul McCartney and Heather Mills, although obviously not so extreme.

Awful for his children to have to hear and see daily. They are lucky to have such a strong, well grounded woman as their mother to support them.

And thank goodness, JP and AH never had children. She missed a trick there, she could have rinsed him right out and had her claws into him for ever. Vile woman, terrible “role model” for young women and girls today.

She looked stunning in that film and you can see why he would fall under her spell. The saying goes, handsome is as handsome does.

I would say that she brought out the absolute worse in him and he was medicating his unhappiness with drink and drugs- vicious circle, etc.

Must be hard for his children seeing and hearing this every day. Their mum seems fab woman who will get them through it.

Although not as extreme as JD and AH, it puts me in mind a bit of Paul McCartney and Heather Mills.

To sum up Paul McC and JD, “there’s no fool, like an old fool”.
Sad to see these brilliant men brought to their knees by young, ambitious, calculating women.

Sincerely hope he goes on to be more successful than ever. Maybe he should go for a role completely different to his usual ‘out there’ characters that he seems to be typecast as.

My thoughts, too. Completely inappropriate for him to continue, especially after he admitted giving drugs to a minor.
