Is a Provisional Driving License ID

Can a Provisional Driving License be used as a form of id in the same way a full driving license can?

Just not sure if it is the same or if there are any restrictions on it

A provisional driving licence is the default form of ID for 18 year olds who don't drive, but want to buy alcohol. Most pubs and bars will only accept driving liceneces or passports, and who wants to carry a passport around?

I used mine for a long time as I got it when I was 17 and then took years to pass my driving test. I never once had anyone (including a police officer!) refuse to accept it as a valid form of ID and that includes 4 years of being at uni...

My friend had hers refused trying to order a cocktail in Chiquito though Hmm

When I had a provisional license, I used it everywhere as a form of ID (who’s carrying their passport to a club??). It’s just as valid as a full license to prove your age/ID, it’s why a lot of people in their teens get one ASAP (ie even when they don’t intend to start driving lessons soon)

I used it at new jobs, banks, age restricted products, bars/clubs, getting a tattoo etc. It was never an issue.
