Are these girls names too similar for sisters?

Alice and Isla. So Alice is my 10 year old cat and Isla is a 6yo Romanian rescue Smile

I could rename Isla as I expect she was only given that name on arrival in the uk. Alice is rarely called Alice, usually she's Moo, Minxy, Sausage, Mummy's baby etc.

Am I at risk of Isla running for Dreamies and Alice chasing the gravy biscuits?

Ps, Alice has lived with dogs and Isla is excellent around cats, as most street dogs are

Isla is a Romanian rescue dog! Key word missing there!

Silly me @tiredanddangerous Smile

Isla isn't quite mine yet but 🤞🏻

I don’t think they’re very similar. Should be ok. Also photos please :)

wivenbaskey · 18/07/2020 19:02

Isla has ear problems but being treated and a mass on her chest which looks like a swelling from where she was kicked hard. I want this lady so much

completely different names.

This thread needs photos. :)

wivenbaskey · 18/07/2020 19:20

no photos are coming up op

romeolovedjulliet · 18/07/2020 19:24

by the way you are doing a lovely thing in taking isla into your hearts and home.

Bubblingresentment · 18/07/2020 19:24

I'm not even a massive pet fan but I need to see pictures too!

Greyblueeyes · 18/07/2020 19:31

I hate that isla was mistreated. I bet she is ready to be spoiled by you! The names are perfect. Not to similar at all.

wivenbaskey · 18/07/2020 19:44

I'll try and post pics again. I can't bear what the street dogs go through. I lost a rescue 2 years ago and now the time is right

They are not really sisters though, are they?

wivenbaskey · 18/07/2020 20:21

Well @tara66, a sister is a female who shares one of more parents with another individual. Adopted sisters is more apt Smile

I'm not sure my photo uploads are visible to anyone but me

OP posts:
Clymene · 18/07/2020 20:45

I can see them. I don't think they're too similar plus you won't be talking to them in the same way (I have totally different conversations with my cat and dog).

And of course they're sisters! How odd to suggest they're not

wivenbaskey · 18/07/2020 20:47

@Clymene, you're a person after my own heart Thanks

Alice and Isla go beautifully together. And they are sisters so ner.

wivenbaskey · 20/07/2020 09:44

Isla was happily snapped up by the person who rang before me. But they've asked will I consider Linda, a cat friendly 9yo about to have a leg amputated. I didn't hesitate. So I'll have Alice and Linda, neither of who I named but who bear the names of my departed Nan and my Mum Smile

Spam88 · 20/07/2020 09:47

Ah sounds like Linda was meant to be! Obviously we need a picture of her...

cricketmum84 · 20/07/2020 09:48

I'm 100 percent a cat person but Isla is beautiful. I think I would struggle to resist taking her in!

cricketmum84 · 20/07/2020 09:49

We need pics of Linda....

TeetotalKoala · 20/07/2020 09:53

Definitely need pictures of Linda. I'm so pleased that Isla has a home too. And Linda is a brilliant name for a dog.
