Flights less busy liverpool or london to dublin

We want to go see grandparents in ireland. They are quire old so the risk of them dying anyway seems higher than corona at the moment. Ideally we'd like to get a quieter flight so there's less risk - our options are Liverpool or london. Anybody got any thoughts?

I feel you want something more spacious and a bit lower risk would you not consider taking the ferry instead?

We don't have a car and getting to holyhead will make for a long trip with a toddler, especially as it can be a bad crossing. Not against it and we might end up going for the ferry at least to get there, just trying to think around the plane as well.

I'm in Ireland. Not sure if you know that they've halted our phases. Tomorrow our Green list comes out, it has been mentioned by tds that the UK may not be on it, they think the UKs numbers are too high. If you are not on the green list you will have to isolate when you get here for up to 14 days or the length of your holiday if a weekend break. If UK is on green list you don't have to restrict your movements. Might be best to wait till after tomorrow to see if UK is on green list.

The list will be reviewed every 2 weeks. It would be a shame to book and end up isolating. I have family in the UK who have flights booked over the next few weeks and they're worried if they will end up having to isolate.

Makes sense but yes makes it more complicated. Fingers crossed for your family and here's hoping we get there ok too!

Which London airport? Liverpool airport is small and always been half empty when I've used it so getting through there is likely to be quieter so lower risk compared to a big London airport. Don't know about the flight.

Good point. It would be Gatwick if we fly from london.

Looks like Liverpool or the ferry then - provided we don't have to quarantine!
