Looking for a new area to live in... recommendations please!

Ok people, help me out!

We need to be within an hour of the City centre. We need a 2 double bedroom house (or bigger). Budget is £325,000. Nice schools. Ds is just going to enter year 5.

Don’t suggest Sevenoaks/ Tunbridge Wells/ Bromley, been there, done that!

umm which city centre do you need to be within a hour of , and a hour by car , bus , train , bike , foot ?

London Colney? You have the retail park (has Sainsburys, M&S, Next and a few other shops) nearby, are close to st albans town centre for more shops/restaurants and the train station. Schools obviously depend on catchment area, but most, if not all, primary schools are rated good and you have secondary schools nearby too.

oh, ok. London Colney is around 40 mins by train to London from St Albans station (you can bike to the station)
