PPE in business - what is more reassuring?

Posting on behalf of a friend to get a bit of a wider perspective.

She runs a gym with her partner. It's a small scale gym which only does classes taught by pair of them. They are currently making plans to reopen at the end of the month - they are sorting stuff to ensure that the classes are safe and comply with guidelines obviously, but are unsure what to do about the "front of house" side.

At present they have a kiosk by the front door where you pay for your class or pay for your block booking and sign in etc.

They've ordered a plastic window to go over the kiosk and are making some changes to their signing in process to make it reduced contact. Their question to me, and therefore my question to you is; is that sufficient? Would you want to see the person at the front in a mask behind the window? Would you like to see them wearing gloves? Would that make you feel safer? Would you like the service to be cashless or card only?

Unless the gloves are going to be changed after every customer they are pointless.

Happy with a screen and gap at counter height for payment. Suggest contactless is preferred. Is signing in essential? Can classes be booked online so a record is there, and no physical signing in is required? That would be the most offputting thing - one pen used by everyone.

@RedCatBlueCat As part of their signing in changes they considered a iPad so people can "sign" with their finger but then the screen can be wiped down between clients - would that feel safer?

Make sure you get refillable dispensers look for bulk fill as this way you can top them up as and when needed , the cartridge type have to run to empty before you can change them.

A good quality surface sanitiser , I recommended this one it is a concentrat and should be diluted 1-40 so a little goes a very long way

This make it much easier to get the mix does right and get into the neck of a narrow mist spray bottle. ( they do drip a bit tho )

Dont bother with gloves unless your staff are going to be handling known to be contaminated.
Soap and water is still the best way to kill the bugs , but if its not available then sanitiser is good .

Mask while behind glass / plastic are not needed but would be while out teaching / walking around

Mark out 2 meter guides to keep people apart .

Don't be afraid to ask people to step back / keep their distance , ask nicely 1st , insist firmly if they don't comply apply charged cattle prod if they still don't shift
