completely out of holiday ideas

Dh and I have DS who is 10. Obviously recently we've been indoors a lot and I really want to go on holiday somewhere we can do some sort of activity together as a family.

DS was going on an activity week with friends but that isn't now going ahead.

We've tried to organise holidays with friends with kids, which we usually do, but this year is hard for many people so that hasn't worked out.

We all hate camping.

Where do people with one child go on holiday? I feel like I'm missing something obvious!

manor house sport and craft hotel would be worth a look. all the activities are included (there are things like tennis courts, go kart track etc)

We were going with Neilson and had been thrilled with what they had to offer and their customer service. As an only child DS needs some sort of structure to his time away or it just becomes sitting on his phone in a different country.

Sadly never got to try it out though Hmm

We loved Manor House when DC were about that age. The rooms are very basic (but clean) but the many activities made up for it.

Butlins?

Ooh Manor House is a great shout! We are waiting for our DS to be old enough

forest Forest holidays

Cornwall - beaches, hire cycles, museums, surfing etc

European centre parks - tend to be a lot cheaper than U.K. ones, even with travelling factored in. We used them as a base to explore the country.

Duinrell

Duinrell in a Holland. Has a small theme park, and also a pool complex. Great for exploring Holland’s, Amsterdam Etc, lovely sandy beaches nearby also. Lots of different companies offer holidays there.

We did Eurocamp/canvas a lot when dd was little. 7 is old enough for the kids club and you can look for eg Family Active sites.

Thanks for these great suggestions, I'll check them out and see what the current situation makes possible!

Happy holidays everyone
