Can I just moan about my fucking UTI's

Omg it's getting me down!

I've had 7 UTI's in 6 months
Have antibiotics on repeat
This week has been hideous, initially it went with the antibiotics, then I had sex and boom it was back
Now I have pain in my stomach, my back, all of my lower bits and when I pee

They've now given me another course of antibiotics, then one antibiotic to take after every time I have sex

I'm exhausted with it, feel like crying tonight and just needed to vent

Oh I feel for you, I had years of UTIs. Are you on the pill? I eventually got a doctor who told me the combined pill can cause UTIs in some women, sometimes every time they have sex.

It's utterly miserable. Things that helped me:

  • tons and tons of water (and no-sugar cranberry juice) to flush it out
  • cranberry tablets
  • avoid caffeine and alcohol and anything else that can irritate your bladder
  • a hot water bottle for your stomach
  • no sugar in general
  • take probiotics (or eat pro-b yoghurt) to replenish your system after all the antibiotics
  • always pee before and after sex

The above helped me to avoid antibiotics for lots of bouts of it. They often make me feel worse.

Wishing you better and push for further investigation if you can, it's not normal to suffer like that Flowers

You may have already tried it but d-mannose capsules changed my life. Sounds dramatic but I was getting a UTI multiple times a year and now haven't had one for almost two years (still can't believe it!). Like you, I was on antibiotics regularly but it kept coming back and one time they didn't work!

During a particularly bad UTI, in desperation I did lots of research online and came across d-mannose. I was a bit sceptical of the countless glowing reviews but bought some capsules on Amazon. I took 3 capsules 3 times a day as directed. My symptoms eased by day 2 and by day 5 the UTI had completely gone! Once it was gone, I reduced the dose to 1 capsule 3 times a day for 2 days then down to 1 capsule once a day for a further 3 days.

A couple of months later, I felt the early signs of a UTI as usual and started taking these capsules immediately. Thanks to these, it never developed into a full blown bout. It has now been almost two years and, even though I haven't taken the d-mannose capsules since, it hasn't come back. I keep some just in case though! Even my GP had told me that suffering with regular UTIs was just one of those things I had to live with. Extremely glad I gave d-mannose a try. Hope it's effective for others who suffer with UTIs.
