I'm new to this and I'm just wondering how long it took women 37 and over to conceive naturally? We've been trying for 13 month and been told the only option we have is IVF as I'm ovulating so they have no concerns. Am i worrying as it's only 13 month or is 13 month a long time?

Hi, I'm 38 and I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant. Took me 6 months to conceive. I used clear blue digital ovulation kits and pre seed the last 3 months so I would defo recommend trying them x

Hiya, I'm using the same. We had appointment with the consultant last week to be told try IVF. It's getting harder and harder every month as time isn't on my side 😢 xx

My first at 21 was instant.

My third at 33 took 9 months

Sorry your going through this. It is hard.

Has your partner had a sperm test?
Have you had repeated blood tests to confirm ovulation?
Have you had a HyCoSy to check if there are any blockages or anything in the Fallopian tubes?

It took me at 26 months to conceive my DD, and 3 rounds of clomid. I started TTC at 25.

amatelfer · 15/07/2020 11:34

Yes my partner has had his check and I've had the blood test. I'm waiting to get my tube checked as I only have 1. We've disgussed the clomid with the consultant and he said its more dangerous because I'm ovulating xx

Sorry I didn't reply sooner.

No I just took folic acid.

Apart from shagging left, right and centre (there are worse things Grin), we didn't really try anything else. Maybe we didn't try hard enough.

I conceived my first at 30 on first month and 2nd at 32 within 3 months. Started trying for DC 3 at 36 and 5 years later it just hasn’t happened for us (3 miscarriages only). We’ve had investigations and all clear, except it’s been suggested that I have low ovarian reserve and poor egg quality. Chances of success with IVF are very low now, so we have decided not to go pursue that route. I was shocked at how quickly my fertility declined, and wished I’d been more proactive earlier.
