Sending cards to hospital in Covid times?

This is probably a really stupid question, but can I send a relative a birthday card to hospital at this time? Wanted to send flowers but can't get through to ask them and now doubting about the card. She is testing positive for Covid but without symptoms, but has had a mini stroke and will be discharged when she stops testing positive. She's really elderly so no mobile phone and very little contact with anyone for a couple of months. What does anyone think?

Flowers are never allowed these days nor latex balloons. I don’t know about all hospitals but I’ve been sending to one, they just hold it in the post room for longer before taking it up to the ward
