Mine is constantly full even though I've deleted most apps and cleared out my photos.

It keeps closing apps today. Anyone else?? Obviously getting away from huwai when my contract is up in December 🙄

Sounds like you need to clear your cache and delete background running apps!

Why would it be running slowly as of today in particular?

Helenj1977 · 13/07/2020 17:54

It's been slowing for a few days. I've deleted my background apps. I'll clear the cache and see if that helps. Thanks 😀

Mine is really bad, will not stay in my Wi-Fi at home.Used all my data up really fast. Also really clunky and slow, I really hate it!

Helenj1977 · 14/07/2020 12:58

It's weird isn't it. I've cleared everything on mine and it's still saying its 95% full.

A shame because the camera is amazing!

I keep getting the storage full message on mine too, it's really annoying. I can't seem to move apps onto the sim card, I don't have many apps or anything on it.
And mine randomly jumps from app to app now and again, I'll be typing on WhatsApp and it will suddenly open our electric car charging app, that one happens often.
I think I'm going back to Samsung in November, I've never had any trouble with them.

gamerchick · 14/07/2020 13:08

It's not the phone. They'll all start to be crippled so people stop using them. Mines started acting itself since the recent update. I'm assuming it's something to do with the recent grumblings and the up coming ban.

I love the camera as well. Nothing compares to it and the battery life is still amazing 2 years on. It's bloody irritating.

Helenj1977 · 14/07/2020 13:20

Do you think it's because of the issues with Huwai??

I'm going to get a refurb from music magpie. I'm going Google pixel next time.

Huawei has been banned from using the Google facilities like the Play Store thanks to political shenanigans between Trump and China. Trump wants all your privacy violations to be by good American advertising companies like Google, y'see.

They were never much good at Android updates for older or cheaper handsets anyway. I'd move to something else.

TheHighestSardine · 14/07/2020 13:22

Pixels have been good but the 4 has lousy lousy battery life. The 4a looks like it's just about to be announced so hang on for a week or two.

Helenj1977 · 14/07/2020 13:37

Interesting, thank you. I'd never go back to iphone. I'll hang on and see what the 4a is like, if not I'll try Samsung again!

I'll never go back to Apple and samsungs can't cope with me. They always end up throwing tantrums. This is the only phone I've found that can handle me. Angry

Are there any alternatives that have good battery life. My tracker app is heavy on battery usage. (Not sinister reason for use)

I've just got Pixel 3 and it's amazing. Last phone was a huawei but I rooted it a while ago and turned the updates off.

I've only had it a couple of days but my Pixel 3 has a good battery life. I use it pretty constantly for music, writing bits when I can't be at my computer, and a few games. Lasts about a day and a half for me.
SedentaryCat · 14/07/2020 13:47

I stopped using mine when the 'security feature' stopped me being able to store apps on the SD card. We tried everything but it came down to settings in the latest Android update that couldn't be changed.

Reverted to my Galaxy S6 and waited out the contract. Refreshed early (thanks O2 - no I don't work for them!) and now have a Samsung A20e. Far superior phone.

Rosesarere · 14/07/2020 13:49

I have always had trouble connecting my Fitbit, have been back and forth with fitbit since I bought it in January, they have now said yesterday that my phone isn't compatible with the watch, has anyone else had this?,

Timeforabiscuit · 14/07/2020 13:51

Still using my original Google pixel 4 years on, still stands up!

FedUpofLockdown123 · 14/07/2020 13:53

I've had mine almost 2 years now and the only thing I don't like about it is the battery is rubbish now but I suppose this is normal.

winterisstillcoming · 14/07/2020 13:55

I find that updates take up a lot more memory as the phone gets older. Also Apple were known to deliberately use updates to take up memory so that you'd have to buy a new device.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 14/07/2020 14:00

There seems to be an isuse with storing apps on the SD card.

Oddly though I have next to nothing on my phone unlike the kids and still get complaints about lack of storage.

Plus they won't be updating google stuff due to US and china stand off

AWiseWomanOnceSaidFuckThisShit · 14/07/2020 14:15

Yes mine was exactly the same and also very slow. I've just bought the Samsung Galaxy S10 and I love it!

Awesome, thankyou. Is the camera decent do you think?

QuestionableMouse · 14/07/2020 14:29

I think the camera is fantastic!

Just a couple I snapped recently. It also has a cool night mode that I've only played a bit with.

I've heard the 3 is amazing but don't go for the pixel 3a as the battery is terrible. The camera was the brilliant but the battery only lasted half a day so wasn't much use. I now have an iPhone 11 and love it.

Helenj1977 · 14/07/2020 15:54

Thank you everyone. I do love Google so would love to try a pixel. Anything to get away from this rubbish!

My P20 is still good, but it was bought in April last year. More importantly, it came with 128GB internal storage. Ive only used 76GB.
