Are we all going to get food poisoning?

Just reheated bolognaise from the fridge and served with pasta for myself, 3 year old and 1 year old.

It was only as we finished I realised that I made it on Friday evening and not Saturday as I had originally thought!

Please all cross fingers we will be ok! I can’t cope with 3 lots of vomit!

Not ideal but I doubt it if it has been in the fridge and heated to piping.

WhyNotMe40 · 13/07/2020 17:28

I think it's unlikely

ShyTown · 13/07/2020 17:28

Quite unlikely if you reheated it properly

If something is cooked Friday and chilled and reheated properly - if happily eat it up to a week later so you have days to spare

IncrediblySadToo · 13/07/2020 17:30

Did you hear it until it was piping hot or only until it was warm?

I think if it was piping hot then you'll be fine, but I'd think that whether it was made Fri or Sat.

It's only the third day, so that's ok isn't it? (I'm vegetarian, but thought mince type things are ok for 3 days?)

midnightstar66 · 13/07/2020 17:31

As long as it was cooked properly in the first place and well heated this time I imagine you'll be fine. I'm a lot less paranoid with beef

Northernsoullover · 13/07/2020 17:32

3-4 days on the FSA website. Phew!

CottonSock · 13/07/2020 17:32

It's fine!

Snailsetssail · 13/07/2020 17:34

Yes it was stored properly in the fridge and heated on the hob for a good 10-15 minutes while the pasta cooked.

I now feel sick from anxiety and am watching the kids like a hawk.

It'll be fine. Shop bought lasagnes etc are quite often older than that and are perfectly okay to eat if you hear them up properly.

gower4 · 13/07/2020 18:08

I think you're being over-anxious! It'll be absolutely fine. Even if it wasn't, you'd recover. But you'll be fine.

OryxNotCrake · 13/07/2020 18:10

You’re being a bit over anxious. It’s been stored in the fridge and heated to piping hot. It’s been 3 days. You’ll be absolutely fine.

Snailsetssail · 13/07/2020 18:12

@OryxNotCrake I am definitely being over anxious, but then I always am with things like this. I struggle with anxiety most of the time, especially around health issues.

FrugiFan · 13/07/2020 18:14

It is fine. I eat stuff which had been in the fridge 3 days all the time, I wouldn't even think about it! Maybe I'm just too lax, but then none of us has ever had food poisoning

Pindlesandneedles · 13/07/2020 18:18

When I was at uni one of my flat mates made a bolognese on a Sunday. He then reheated the whole pan each day taking out a portion for each dinner. He would do this for a week, make a fresh portion the next Sunday and repeat Envy (not envy) he didn’t die so I’m sure you’ll be fine!

Snailsetssail · 13/07/2020 18:18

@FrugiFan we’ve never had it before either and I used to be so much more relaxed about it all. I think current covid situation has triggered my anxiety and just made me over think this.

P.s huge Frugi fan here too! Both kids fully decked out in it today.

@Pindlesandneedles I always remember this being the case with soup too when I was younger

Fleamaker123 · 13/07/2020 19:06

It's recommended chilled food, like home made cooked meals, cooked joints of meat etc are used within 3 days, so you'll be fine!

Chicchicchicchiclana · 13/07/2020 19:12

The best way to cope with your anxiety over things like this is not to ask people for reassurance. So you feel anxious, that's ok. You know what you're like.

By creating this thread you have created a bit of drama which really isn't necessary and you seem to know that.
