Does anyone have a hybrid SUV? I want one but not sure which to go for!

My car is on its last legs AND I've just got a big promotion at work. Thinking of getting my first new car ever.

Was looking at fully electric but they won't stand up to the motorway driving we do to see family. My work commute is less than 10 miles though so hybrid should be perfect.

I like SUVs because low cars make me feel sick and I need decent boot space.

Anyone got any recommendations? Thank you!

We loved our Mitsibushi outlander, we found it really roomy and could just about get 3 car seats across the back. We have family over 4 hours away, and it was OK on the longer journeys. I miss that car- it was a company car and my husband left the job so had to give it back!

SUVs don't always have big boots. They are just big all round but it's not necessarily reflected in loads of boot space.

OTOH, the Skoda Octavia has a huge boot, and the Skoda Superb boot is even bigger. Neither SUVs.

If you want a massive tank of an SUV don't use boot space as an excuse!

To answer your question, the Kia Niro is a great hybrid (and the fully electric version has one of the best ranges on the market) but the PHEV model doesn't have a particularly big boot because you lose space for the battery. The Mitsubishi Outlander is the obvious choice but it's a beast of a car and far too big for my liking. Of course if you like huge cars you'll probably like it.

Yep, some of the recommendations here, like the Toyota CH-R, just seem to be hatchbacks on steroids. Seems to have been a bit of a fashion lately to make cars bigger on the outside without gaining any useful space inside

Just bought a Toyota Rav4 and so far we love it. Its a 67 plate with low mileage and suits our driving style (lots of slow intercity driving with the occasional longer journey on the weekends). Tested a brand new Honda CRV too but didn't really see the benefit for the increase in price (£15k)

@AnotherEmma I don't want a massive car, I just want a higher driving position and a boot that will fit luggage for a family!

Thanks all for the recommendations Smile
