Where would you go camping in South East?

We're looking to go for a few nights camping somewhere in South East, either Kent way or down near Brighton or anywhere near the coast in between. Probably not looking to camp somewhere directly by the coast as it will be packed but maybe a little further out and then drive/take bus to the beach or to local towns.

I know very little about this part of the country, does anyone any recommendations for the best area to stay? Two adults, no kids, with a car. Would be nice to stay somewhere with nice views of countryside. We both prefer small town/village vibe to bigger towns.

Help!

Stonywish Country Park in Ditchling is a brilliant campsite in a village ten mins drive from Brighton (or Cycle/drive to Hassocks station and get the train in)

The Cammarch www.cammarch.com/en-GB/homepage is a lovely hotel with family rooms. We love stopping there on route, even if it’s just to eat and not stay, because it has a big garden, a children’s menu and children’s books and games.

It's near Ramsgate, Margate, Broadstairs. There are other more remote beaches also near. I don't know what other attractions will be open. Dover White Cliffs is within a fairly short driving distance.

Camber Sands - lovely beach. Rye nearby for lovely old buildings, cafes and bars. Great cinema!

Weald of Kent area, lots of lovely villages nearby, a few beaches about 45/60 min drive away. Great farm shop on site.
