Could I use a Maternity coat as a mum and baby carrier coat?

I've seen the coats that are designed for use when you have your baby in a carrier, I need a maternity coat anyway, would this work too? Or is the baggyness too low down to accommodate a pregnant bump rather than a baby in a carrier?

I think you'd be better getting a baby carrier coat and using it as a maternity coat.
I didn't bother with a maternity coat, (although I did buy one and its still in the wardrobe) I just used my normal coats and a big scarf. The baby carrier coats are brilliant as they have a little hood that goes over babies head, and you can open them at the sides. Well worth the money.
