Anyone use a phone app AND laptop login for HSBC?

I bank with hsbc and use my phone app however I need to do something which requires me to login via my laptop.
When I try it asks me for a secure key which I don't have. (I use finger print for the app)

I'm worried that if I get a secure key it will bugger up the login on my app. I seem to remember the hassle of trying to register on the app before when I changed my phone.

Anyone know what I need to do? I've tried ringing them but call times are crazy.

You need to press cancel when it asks your to Touch ID. Then it will give you the option at the bottom to generate secure code

You don't need a secure key (the little keypad thingy), just use the app to generate a code on your phone that you type in to your laptop.

Yes it’s really badly set up - but you get your secure key from the app as well. When it asks you for your fingerprint press cancel and the screen behind has options including to get a secure key which you can then enter on the desktop login. Hope this helps!

I'm
Just going round in circles with it. Hsbc is by far the most awkward to access, I feel like banging my head against a brick wall

Are you sorted yet? It’s the tab in yellow you need to tap when you open the app.

Frankly so do people that have read your posts!

There’s literally instructions on the website on how to use the app secure key; the Generate Secure Key option is right there on the starting page on the app, and many people on this thread have told you what to do. How are you still stuck a day later?

Is your app up to date? Check the App Store

@Mnhealth202020 Oh my god you are so rude!
Just scroll past my thread instead of trolling! Weirdo.

To everyone else that's offered helpful advice ..
yes I've done that and got a secure code but when I enter it it says it's not recognised. I've changed passwords and been locked out 3 times now. I'm still trying to get thro to them on the phone but waiting times are over 30 minutes so I usually have to abandon the call.
