I am usually trawling the charity shops for usually expensive makes of clothing but they're all shut until Friday here (Scotland). Browsing around TX Maxx today I saw, the for the first time, a dress by Boden.

Originally £80 Shock (apparently) was reduced to £4 and I had a close look but there was no damage or missing buttons etc.

I couldn't try it on (changing rooms closed) but was told I could try it on at home and bring back for a refund if not suitable. I loved the bright red colour, the size seemed right (14) but on the hanger I wasn't sure it would suit.

However once home I tried it on and loved it, very comfy. I bought it for the coming winter and, paired with my burgundy woolly tights and boots, it'll do fine.

What fab bargains have you found? Would love to hear about them.

Crikey , that‘s a bargain , and it’s a lovely dress .
I bought All Saints leggings yesterday for £8 and I was thrilled !

GoldenKelpie · 08/07/2020 19:44

@Trumpton Just googled All Saints leggings, wow they are expensive but £8 is a total bargain. I bet they are wonderfully comfy and will wash and wear very well for a long time Smile.

I bought a pure cashmere jumper in a charity shop for £4. Probably at least £80 new.

GoldenKelpie · 08/07/2020 21:07

Sigh, it is SO good to bag a bargain! Keep 'em coming!

I got a FatFace cashmere jumper from there last week for a tenner - was chuffed to bits!

cwtchesandprosecco · 08/07/2020 22:06

I got, what I consider to be, an epic bargain in the next sale on Monday!

Ordered leather leggings, Adidas sports bra, a sweatshirt, a cardigan, an oasis dress, a midi dress, a blush pink coat, a work out top and a skirt for the grand total of £93! Made my day

cwtchesandprosecco · 08/07/2020 22:07

Should also add the original price of the coat was £90!

Nine items for less than £100! Brilliant Smile.

TK Maxx can have some amazing bargains but you have to keep looking because a lot of it is frankly, weird.

I just managed to get a jumpsuit from TK Maxx for about £10. It was meant to be £90! 🥳

ShowOfHands · 08/07/2020 23:30

My best bargain was a coat from the charity shop. Cost me £10. Looked brand new, pure wool with a silk lining and had a designer label. I googled it when I got home and it was current stock, 360 English pounds...

Well, ShowOfHands you most certainly win Grin. I bet you will think about your bargain every time you wear your beautiful coat.

See that is exactly the kind of bargain I love, something that is about 10% of the original cost. Even if there is a loose thread/missing button or dropped hem, a quick sew fix does the job. Getting something perfect is even better though rare.

GoldenKelpie That is amazing. Did you brave the queues? My local one has always got a lot of people queuing to get in!

GoldenKelpie · 09/07/2020 22:09

No queue at all, thankfully, and plenty of people in the store. The Range is next door and their queue was pretty long.

I forgot to mention that I also got a Guess summer dress (I thought they only did bags) which was £6 reduced from some sort of ridiculous price. If we have a summer this year I will be able to wear it Grin.
