Oxford schools Dragon vs Summerfields vs Abingdon

Hello Ladies,
We are moving to Oxford and I am considering schools for my son who will be joining Reception. I would appreciate any insight on those schools: Dragon and Summerfields as well as Abingdon. Thanks so much

I have no idea but I would go with Dragon, purely because it sounds like a feeder school for Hogwarts.

It is my understanding that Hogwarts school was added on the list for fun. Or have I got it so wrong! We are new to the area and this is done purely on my search! So any insider real experience insight would be of great help! Thanks

I am particularly interested on any recent experiences of Summerfields pre-prep Reception -Y2 as it is my understanding that it has only recently expanded to this provision.

We’ve older kids now they’ve moved on but all 3 schools have a great reputation but quite a different feel. Depends what you’re looking for, you need to look round & see which you particularly like.

Also depends where in Oxford or Oxfordshire you’ll be living as locations all different, consider commute & transport links. Central oxford a nightmare for traffic, unless walking or cycling. Abingdon is out of Abingdon & might suit depending on your location.

Thanks so much littlefireseverywhere. Could you please clarify what you mean by a different feel? I mainly want an Academic school. But I also want a happy child. Any particular thoughts on the Dragon and how it is perceived in comparison to Summerfields in terms of Academics, extra curricular, pastoral care, etc. Many thanks
