Go outdoors-was I stupid to buy from them?

Have purchased a tent from GP outdoors-every day I get a text saying they are sorry it is running late. It's been over a week now. I have tried to contact them via DM and they have let me know they 'can't' refund or cancel the order. Will I ever see this tent? Anyone else had this problem?

DH and I have both bought things from Go Outdoors recently and got those texts every day. Don't worry, they mean what they say and your goods will be delivered.

They’re normally good but I did read they’re on the brink of going into administration. Hopefully they can’t cancel it because theyrve started processing the order?

DH ordered something on Friday or Saturday, I think, and it came yesterday. I ordered a jacket earlier in lockdown and it took quite a long time but there may have been supply or delivery issues then. I still got a text and an email daily until it came. I will be very sorry if it goes under, we use it a lot for outdoor clothing.

The extra annoying thing is that the tent I've chosen was reduced to £99 online, and then I went to the shop for something else and they were stacked up at £30 each! I only want to have it to return the sodding thing!

The shop was a mess with cardboard boxes stacked up and half empty shelves. My heckles were raised as it just looked sad compared to the last time I went in.

I’m in the same situation and, funnily enough, I received today’s text from them as I was reading your post.

I ordered on 2nd July and it says 5-7 working days so I guess I’ve got a little longer but I’m starting to get a bit worried now as I need the items next week!
