any experiences of filing a complaint for harrassment?

I have been advised to do so and would be grateful to hear your stories.

I am worried that it might make things worse as I do not think he is in control of his temper

But I'm not sure if I have a choice any more.

Who is harassing you? A neighbour, colleague, partner etc etc?
Could you give a little more info in order to advise as best as possible?
Usually to contact police RE harassment you'd need evidence and /or a diary recording all incidents, times, dates, details.
It really depends on what type of harassment you're experiencing and from whom in order to say how to respond to it best...
