Anyone had COVID with just a fever?

I’ve been unwell for about two weeks now. Until today the only symptom I’ve had is a reasonably low fever (37.5-38.5 but consistently and most of the time for the last two weeks).

For the first week it didn’t even occur to me it might be COVID, then I realised it could be but was too late for a test. We’ve been at home the entire time anyway and not seeing anyone so it didn’t feel like a big deal. My DH and kids have been fine, no symptoms at all.

Today I’ve got some discomfort in my lower right ribs / lung. It’s not terrible, I’m breathing fine.

Has anyone had similar symptoms and a positive test? Seems there’s no point contacting anyone unless I get really unwell, is that right? Or should I get checked out as it might be something else? I have no idea what else it could be! We won’t be going out or seeing anyone at all for the next couple of weeks anyway so that’s not a factor.

I'd send off for a home testing kit and then at least you'll know one way or the other.

You’re supposed to do it within five days of symptoms starting so I’m way past that - seems like it wouldn’t be accurate at this point. Didn’t even occur to me that it could be COVID until the temps just didn’t go away

I think I may have had but this was before testing was available to anyone except frontline staff. I never felt unwell but for a few weeks afterwards I experienced lower left lung pain when I exercised. It seems to have gone now and I'm getting an antibody test next week, so I'll know for sure then, one way or another.

Interesting, thanks. It’s just the temperature I can’t understand because usually if anything my body temp is low. In the last few days it’s been gone and then will suddenly shoot up. Hopefully whatever it is is passing but will obviously call the doctor if it gets worse.
