I've kind of thought I want one for years but dithered over the price and how actually useful they'd be IRL. I only Hoover about once a week anyway Blush so if I still need to do that its no help.

Roomba seemed to be the market leader when I last looked but Eufy, which I've never heard of, has had a lot of exposure on here today.

-How do you decide? Once you've chosen the rand there are still a lot of models to choose from.
-What does it actually do?
-Where does the "fluff" go, they're tiny, compared to a standard vacuum?
-What do you have to do to set it up?
-Can you just leave it to do the whole upstairs or downstairs or do you need to do each room separately?

  • presumably you still need to do the stairs (the worst bit) manually?
  • Do you need somewhere for it to live that has an electrical socket for charging?
  • how often does it need emptying?

we bought a Eufy last week. Chosen because it was in our price range and had good reviews. We wanted one which could link to google home so that helped narrow it down
-What does it actually do?
it potters round at random hoovering as it goes and occasionally bumping into furniture. It takes a while but eventually seems to cover most of the floor.
-Where does the "fluff" go, they're tiny, compared to a standard vacuum? it has a little compartment but obviously needs to be emptied more than an upright.
-What do you have to do to set it up? not much really, just push a button
-Can you just leave it to do the whole upstairs or downstairs or do you need to do each room separately? it can go from room to room

  • presumably you still need to do the stairs (the worst bit) manually? yes
  • Do you need somewhere for it to live that has an electrical socket for charging? yes
  • how often does it need emptying? depends how dusty your house is, how big etc. If you have a pet which leaves hair it will need emptying more often for example
