Hi all I've just found out I'm pregnant with baby #3, I'm only 4 weeks gone so very early. I'm on 37.5mg of venlafaxine and have been for a while now. My partner brought me some pregnacare vitabiotics for me to start taking.
But me of course being anxious and paranoid about taking them.
Am I allowed to take them with venlafaxine?..
I'm going to ring my doctor Monday, but I just want to start getting some folic acid and the vital vitamins into my system asap.
Sorry if I've written this on the wrong part I'm new to this.
Thanks.

Hello lovely. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I have had two babies and was on consultant led care for mental health reasons (killer depression caused by pregnancy hormones).
First baby they switched me onto sertraline, but I stopped taking SSRIs for the first twelve weeks which just about killed me. No problems for baby and she’s a very happy, engaging little girl.
Second baby I was taking sertraline when I conceived and the depression was even worse so I continued taking it. Consultant happily switched me to venlafaxine and said the highest he’d be willing to go was 150mg. Second baby absolutely fine and no issues.

At your booking appointment ask to be referred to the post natal mental health team for monitoring. GPs in general are reluctant regarding SSRIs in pregnancy because they are not specialists.

Oops, think I misunderstood your post! Take the pregnacare, no problems at all!

Thanks lilyboleyn,
I can't take sertraline I had a bad reaction to it hence why I was switched to ven.
I am going to phone the dr next week even though I am really early because I do want to try and wean off it completely but if I can't then I can't.
I just feel constantly drained and very crampy (hopefully it's all normal) I've got 2 but they are 8 and 6 so long time ago and I never found out with them until I was 6 weeks /8 weeks.
So not sure if this is normal for 4 weeks.
Thanks.
I'll start the pregnacare today! X

Oh bless, it’ll just be your body adapting to the pregnancy. Or are both your children the same sex? I found being pregnant the second time (with a boy) really really wiped me out. Grin

No I've got a girl and a boy..so I have no idea what this one will be. All I know it's the worst I've felt in my pregnancies.
Very emotional and weak just haven't got the energy to do stuff so hope it improves because I have a house and 2 kids to run after. Grin
Luckily have hubby home on furlough till 13th to help but I'm still working which is exhausting.
My friend said that it could be twins. Hmm
This is def the last one that's for sure.
Grin
