Will random allocation of seats on planes now stop?

I have booked a holiday and I am wondering if it will be a waste of money paying to sit together ( just me and Dp). Surely they will make all members of the same household sit together anyway?
Does anyone know what the rules will be from now on please.

The airlines would be mad not to sit family groups together now, as it means fewer empty seats between groups for social distancing. Surely? Or is that too logical?

I would imagine they will try to sit people together wherever they can to save the cabin crew a lot of hassle. But with airlines you just never know. There's no official guidance I could see.

We've just paid for seats together next week. We normally don't bother as when it's just the two of us and a short flight we don't mind sitting apart but we decided not to run the risk at the moment.

I think it would be madness to split people up but Ryanair are all about the money so who knows!

I flew with Easyjet recently and didn't pay to sit together, but we were put together.

Ryanair = £'s so cannot see them not charging going forward for seat allocation, same as it is at present.

I dont think there are changes in rules of sitting people together in families other than young children/parent.

At this time airlines will and are looking to get as much money as they can, but every airline is different, does not matter if its a full service carrier or a low cost carrier they will decide which way for them
