Dd is 12,she will be 13 in September. Usually fairly sensible.

How long would be OK to leave her in the house alone in the day time?

If she's comfortable, then she should be able to stay home during a whole work day. I wouldn't say 5 days a week by 2 should be fine.

As long as she is happy with. Start with an hour and see how she feels then slowly increase. If you have a good relationship I'm sure she will be able to communicate with you whether she feels safe or not.

I left my DS at 9Yo for half hour while I went to pick up DD from after school club once a week. Since lockdown he hasn’t been left alone as there’s always someone here and there’s obv no clubs etc.

He understood how to call me from the house phone if an emergency.

She's been happy with about 3 hours at the moment.

Depends how comfortable she is with it. At nearly 13 a full working day would be fine really.

Age 10 to leave for longer than an hour or two. At age 11 DS was home everyday after school for two hours and whole days in the holidays. Not everyday, I tried to break it up with annual leave.

I'd be happy to leave for a full day at that age provided they are sensible kids. My eldest is 18 and was 12 when I'd leave him home for the day if needed.

My younger two will probably never be left alone as all they do is fight!!

So 10 til 4 ish would be a reasonable length of time?
