Is there anywhere we can go, UK or abroad, for a short break?

It's my annual leave in 12 days time, and I would love to go away, just for a few days. Is there anywhere at all that it's feasible to go, UK or abroad, for a short break?

The short answer is very possibly, but we need to know roughly where you live and how far you want to travel.

Look for accommodation with a free cancellation option in case of a spike

I live in Scotland. I would ideally like to go to Rome or Krakow. Failing that, anywhere that isn't home to be honest.

Honestly, OP - since we're in the middle of a pandemic, taking a staycation is best!

We are not in the middle. Restrictions are being lifted. Travel will be allowed very soon, possibly within days. It's not a crime.

Personally I'll be staying in the UK this year. Holiday cottages are taking bookings now.

We've just booked a cottage in the Peak District in July.

Germany is open for "business", although I would recommend the south-west (very good weather there, too).
Hotel Ritter in Durbach is promoting itself at present. Lovely part of the country and a stone's throw from Alsace as well - very good food and wine in that area.
Might be a slight challenge to get there by air/public transport, but not complicated by car.
Masks are mandatory in shops and on public transport, but restaurants are open, with the applicable distancing.

We are still in the middle of a pandemic, they are talking about locking down more districts if they continue to spread. I personally wouldn't risk flying abroad atm, you don't know what could happen in a few days, look how fast leister happened, if you fly out you may not be able to get back.

Living in Scotland even if Boris negotiates air bridges, I really doubt flights abroad will be running in that short a time frame.
There are some amazing British cities though you could explore.
