Very random question-phone numbers after someone dies

My lovely Nana died 9 years ago. I’m ok with it now but I’ve always kept her landline number on my phone, about once a year I’ll come across it and dial it just because I used to phone her everyday and it feels nice. The number was taken out of use after her death so it never connected but I’ve just dialled it and had such a shock when it started ringing! I don’t think I’ve done it for a couple of years. I’m a bit sad now that I won’t be able to do it anymore. Anyway, I’m just intrigued as to why it’s back in use after all these years, I wonder what the system for it is?

Oh dear, maybe I’m not ok. Having a good sob. Last time I heard that number ring it was her sweet voice on the other end.

Aww bless you. I have no advice other than be kind to yourself. It's lovely that you have such nice memories.

I imagine that they would reuse phone numbers at some point

Sorry for your loss
